The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) is a government institution responsible for administering national examinations in Tanzania. Established by the Parliamentary Act No. 21 of 1973, NECTA oversees the development, regulation, and administration of examinations for primary, secondary, and post-secondary education to ensure quality and standardization in the country’s education system.

NECTA Returned Certificates Application Procedure

Returned Certificates – Private candidates who sat for exams before 2015 but did not collect their certificates from the Postal Office and therefore, returned to NECTA.

SERVICE REQUIREMENTS FOR RETURNED CERTIFICATES

NECTA offers an online application service for private candidates who sat for the National Examinations as Private Candidates (PC) before 2015 but they did not collect their certificates from the Postal Office and therefore returned back to NECTA.

Documents Required for Application

(a) A copy of the Voter’s ID or National ID or Passport or a Driving license. Other IDs will not be accepted.

(b) Coloured Passport Size Photo.

Make a Payment of Tshs. 30,000 / = for each NECTA Returned Certificate in one of the following Banks: NMB; CRDB; NBC or through a mobile phone payment system, for example: M – Pesa or Tigo Pesa using the electronic payment number (Control Number) you created.
